Carpet Cleaning:

In the late seventies a company called Trewax International imported a new innovation in carpet cleaning "The Hydro-mist extraction system". Up until this point the only options available to clean your carpet were to lift and beat them or take them to a large laundry or foam clean them. The first two methods were very time consuming and produced little results. The foam cleaning method left the carpet full of sticky detergent that attracted dirt particles in a matter of weeks.

Having seen a demonstration of the new Hydro mist extraction system Goldstar recognised a niche in the carpet cleaning market. We invested in two machines that were, we believe, the first in Kent. Our major problem was persuading customers that this magical type system actually worked and was far more beneficial to the carpet than foam. Once a customer’s friends and neighbours saw the results work started to flood in. Goldstar was leading the field in carpet cleaning for some time but unfortunately some new traders didn’t value training as highly as we did and some rather nasty results ensued. At the time this reminded us to offer many services not just the one.

Following many successful years carpet cleaning we employed our present day specialist Steve some 18 years ago. With a wealth of experience and the latest machinery we can now offer a complete carpet & upholstery cleaning service including scotch guard protection.

Childrens Play Area Ball Cleaning:

Some years ago we were approached by one of our major clients who were in the process of fitting Children’s play areas into their larger outlets. Hygiene to the Ball pits was a concern especially with children’s close contact with the play balls and we were asked to find or develop a machine to scrub and rinse the plastic balls.

With some play pits having 50,000 balls in them removing, wiping and replacing by hand was out of the question. All the balls needed to a be completely removed at the same time so that the bottom of the pit could be sanitized.

We thought of all manner of washing machines, trays, vacuums and scrubbers but could not come up with a viable solution. We even approached a company that manufactured car washes. Our solution came via a company that made bouncy castles and through them we contacted a Dutch company whom sold us a very strange looking and awkward machine. This worked well until someone decided to change the size of the balls in all the ball pits.

The next generation machine is far more compact and efficient and scrubs and sanitizes the balls more effectively and offers a very cost effective way to clean and sanitize any size of play pit. We remove all of the balls and vacuum the bottom of the play pit before replacing the balls. Our machine can handle 12000 balls per hour and so we can give cost effective service to all size pits.

Getting the right equipment for maintaining a floor surface is critical in ensuring the longevity of the surface shine together with the right cleaning and polishing agent for a non slip finish.

From completely stripping, sanding or scarifying we can start from fresh or maintain existing finishes. Once back to the original finish it is important to apply the correct sealer or varnish to increase the life span of the finish.
